After Cesky Krumlov we headed to Salzburg, Austria. Although we immediately started to miss the Czech Republic's cheap prices, such as $1 beer, but Salzburg was beautiful and charming as well. We saw all the Sound of Music sights and enjoyed taking in the sight of Salzburg castle from Mirabell Palace. We also went on a day trip to Berchtesgaden national park from Salzburg, which is actually in Germany, just across the border of Austria. Berchtesgaden had some of the most beautiful mountains I've ever seen, with the beautiful lake Konigsee in the middle. We splurged and took the chairlift up the mountain, and it was definitely worth the money. At the top we got to see all of the beautiful mountains around us, hike around a bit, and enjoy some great beer and ice cream. If you're in Salzburg I can't recommend Berchtesgaden enough. I could definitely see us going back and spending some more time there doing all the hikes.
Finally we made our way to our last stop of Munich, Germany. While we thought this city didn't have as much charm or friendly people as Prague or Salzburg, we definitely really enjoyed it. The beer and food was great, we went to one beer garden called Augustiner Keller, and they actually serve beers by the LITER. The beer garden was huge and in the beer hall itself locals were singing and laughing together. We met our friend in Munich and had a beer here, and getting to sit in this beer garden and beer hall will be a memory I'll keep forever. We also went on a day trip by tour to Neuschwanstein castle and Linderhof palace. Neuschwanstein castle is the castle that was the inspiration for the Disneyworld castle, and it was certainly very stunning. The inside tour was just ok, but I'm glad we went just to see the outside of the castle. On our last day in Munich we went to Dachau concentration camp, which was an incredible experience. It was definitely very harrowing to walk through the camp and see where all those poor souls suffered, but I think it's important everyone goes to one concentration camp sometime in their life. It makes me sad that similar things are happening right now to my north in North Korea. Anyway our trip was great. I put together two videos of our trip that we made using our GoPro Hero 4 silver. Check them out, like them, and please subscribe! Thanks for reading!
